SAFEGUARDING SUPPORT OFFICER LEVEL 3

SAFEGUARDING SUPPORT OFFICER LEVEL 3

Together, we can grow your business

Develop the Skills to Keep Others Safe

How Will Our Level 3 Safeguarding Support Officer Apprenticeship Benefit Your Business?

If your organisation works in education, health, social care, local authority services or the voluntary sector, safeguarding is not optional, it is a legal and moral responsibility.

Our Level 3 Safeguarding Support Officer Apprenticeship strengthens your safeguarding culture by equipping staff with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to protect children and vulnerable adults effectively.

This programme is designed for individuals in support, administrative or operational roles with safeguarding responsibilities. Learners develop the ability to:

  • Identify and respond to signs of abuse, neglect and exploitation
  • Apply current safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance
  • Work confidently alongside safeguarding teams and external agencies
  • Promote safer environments across your organisation

To enhance organisational impact even further, the programme can include:

  • Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead (Adults or Children) qualification
  • Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Awareness training

This ensures your team not only understands safeguarding policy but can apply it confidently in real-world situations.

New: Trauma-Informed Practice Module

We now offer the option to integrate Trauma-Informed Practice training directly into the apprenticeship, tailored to your organisation’s environment and safeguarding context.

This bespoke module explores:

  • Core trauma-informed principles and how they apply in workplace settings
  • Professional curiosity and strengthening safeguarding judgement
  • Risk awareness and how lived experience shapes risk perception
  • Vicarious trauma and supporting staff in emotionally demanding roles
  • How the brain responds to threat (fight, flight, freeze)
  • The Window of Tolerance and recognising dysregulation
  • Practical tools to support regulation and resilience

This is particularly valuable for teams working in high-pressure safeguarding environments, helping staff remain calm, curious and professionally responsive rather than reactive.

Meet the tutor - Sarah Gensmantel

"I have many years of experience in safeguarding, pastoral care, and holistic support including MHFA, Trauma-Informed and Psychotherapy for children, young people, and vulnerable adults. Over the years, this work has been immensely rewarding, and it has been an honour to walk alongside the people I’ve supported, witnessing their journeys of healing and personal progress. More recently, I have transitioned into a new role where I can help other professionals reach their full potential, while continuing to provide support where it is most needed."
