"What stood out to me the most in this module was how useful and relevant the risk assessment process actually is especially when it’s something you’re doing for your own workplace. I did my assignment on an Office Risk Assessment for ASD Metals UK, and it came at the perfect time with staff returning to the office, so everything I learned just slotted straight into real life. 

I found it really helpful learning how to properly spot hazards, work out how serious they are, and think about what we can do to manage the risks. Things like DSE, slips and trips, stress, fire safety, and COSHH all came up – and having a clear process to follow made it much easier to break things down and deal with them. Using Evotix to do the actual assessment was a big part of it too. I’ve been helping roll it out at ASD, so getting hands on with a real risk assessment in the system helped me understand how everything links together. It made the whole thing feel a lot more real and not just like “coursework.” 

 The Apollo modules (DSE, COSHH, and Intro to Risk Assessment) backed it all up nicely. I especially found the DSE one useful since loads of staff are now back at desks after working from home – and not everyone has the best set up yet. Going forward, I’ll definitely feel more confident doing risk assessments and using the Evotix system properly. I’ll also be able to support others in the team, especially with the DSE side of things and keeping risk reviews up to date. Overall, this module really helped me connect what I’m learning with what’s actually happening at work, which is exactly what I hoped for."
