ISO transition is fast approaching

URGENT….

ISO 9001 transition is fast approaching.

Can you really afford to miss the deadline?

All ISO standards are reviewed every five years to establish if a revision is required to remain current and relevant for the marketplace. ISO 9001:2015 is designed to respond to the latest trends and be compatible with other management systems such as ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).

ISO 9001:2015 was published in September 2015 therefore all companies currently accredited to ISO 9001:2008 have three years from that date to transition to the new standard. Failure to do this will result in invalid accreditation. The availability of regulatory bodies to complete the certification audits are quickly diminishing due to the quantity of businesses requiring updates.

A large amount of companies will leave this until the last minute then find they struggle to be accredited, as the third-party auditors will have no availability. Don’t let this be you.

ISO 9001:2015 employs the process based approach, which incorporates the Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle (PDCA) and risk based thinking. This standard is based upon seven quality management principles including a strong customer focus and top management capability.

This PDCA cycle enables an organisation to ensure that’s its processes are adequately resourced and managed and that opportunities for improvement are determined and acted upon.

The seven principles are:

  • Customer focus
  • Leadership
  • Engagement of people
  • Process approach
  • Evidence – based decision making
  • Relationship management
  • Improvement
