Making Data More Real
At Clear Quality, we’re passionate about delivering training that’s relevant, practical, and engaging. One of our recent learners on the Data protection & information governance level 4 apprenticeship, Karl, has taken that ethos and brought it to life in a completely fresh way.
Karl, Technical Director at Precision Proco, has been using TikTok and other social media platforms to share insights from the course. His goal? To make data more accessible, less intimidating, and actually enjoyable to learn.
“There’s a perception that data is all spreadsheets and silence,” Karl explained. “But once you understand it, you realise it touches every part of a business. I wanted to show that in a more human, creative way.”
Karl joined the programme to build on his knowledge and support better decision-making in his role. What quickly became clear was his enthusiasm for sharing what he’d learnt. Through his TikTok account @dataformatter, he’s been breaking down key concepts into short videos that show how data can be used in business settings.
“The course gave me tools I could use straight away. I thought, why not turn those into bite-sized content that could help others too?”
At Clear Quality, we don’t just focus on qualifications. We care about how learners use what they’ve learnt in the real world. Karl is a brilliant example of this in action. His creativity, drive, and ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way is helping others see that data doesn’t have to be dry or difficult.
It’s also a reminder that training isn’t one-size-fits-all. When learners are supported to apply their knowledge in ways that suit their roles and personalities, the results can be both impressive and inspiring.
Data plays a huge role in today’s business environment. But for many professionals, the idea of engaging with it can still feel daunting. Karl’s approach shows that with the right training and mindset, data can be made approachable and even fun.
His story highlights how our Data apprenticeship is not just about learning systems and tools, but about developing confidence, curiosity, and the ability to apply data in meaningful ways.
We’re proud to have supported Karl in his learning journey and we look forward to seeing what he shares next. It’s learners like Karl who remind us why we do what we do.
